When purchasing a pastel painting, it is important to know how to properly care for your new addition.  Your original pastel painting will be sent to you in a foam core "sandwich". There will be a piece of glassine over the surface of the painting. The foam core and glassine will protect it during shipping and until you are ready to have the painting framed. 

When handling the painting, hold it by the edges. Never use fixative on the surface of your painting. It will dull the pigment and the painting will be ruined.  Be sure to use a qualified framer who is familiar with the pastel medium.
